Mental Health Therapist for Children

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at We Care Services for Children. As a Therapist, you will provide psychotherapy for children up to age six, primarily in their homes or community-based settings. Your clinical assessments will include consideration of trauma, development, family systems, and culture. In collaboration with the client's caregiver(s), you will create treatment plans, provide therapy, and provide ongoing case-management.
About the RoleAs a Therapist, you will work under the general supervision of the Mental Health Director and Clinical Supervisor. Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing therapy in the home, community, and/or office as clinically indicated and appropriate.
- Assessing clients to determine diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and treatment constellation with clinical consultation as needed.
- Providing relationship-based therapy with client and caregiver(s). Conducting collateral sessions with significant support persons as needed.
- Providing case management, such as linking clients to community resources and/or coordinating services with other providers.
- Engaging in reflective clinical supervision in support of the clinical work with clients. Participating in case consultations with other We Care treatment team members for all shared cases.
- Maintaining treatment records and appropriate billing for services.
- Contributing to a working environment that fosters a sense of safety and community.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage Family and Child, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology.
- Licensed or License Eligible MFT, LCSW, PhD, or PsyD.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, and social service system.
- A valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation and current auto insurance to travel to client homes (auto expenses are reimbursed at $0.75/mile).
- BBS eligibility preferred.
- Requires fingerprint clearance, including criminal background check, as well as passing a standard physical with TB clearance, and immunizations.
We Care Services for Children provides targeted, compassionate, and effective early intervention services to help young children reach their full potential. We address the unique mental health, developmental, and educational needs of disadvantaged children up to age 6 through an array of programs and research-based therapies. Embedded in our programs are developmentally, linguistically, and culturally appropriate activities to provide each child with the best possible start to his or her life.
