Compensation packages are estimated based on the bill rate at the time of posting and may vary based on guaranteed hours and travel specifics.

Unit Details

Patient Capacity: 12 beds in the TSICU (7CA)
Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred
Common Patient Conditions: Includes but not limited to mesothelioma, thoracic aortic dissection, esophagectomy, and lung decortications.

Essential Skills

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Ability to recognize early changes in patient conditions
  • Effective communication and escalation skills with healthcare providers
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience with CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
Work Environment

Our unit is staffed with an intensivist available 24/7, ensuring comprehensive patient care. RNs are expected to read telemetry strips and may float to other ICUs as needed.

Orientation and Scheduling

New hires will undergo a two-shift orientation specific to the unit. Self-scheduling is encouraged within reasonable limits, and weekend and holiday requirements will be discussed during the onboarding process.
