Traveling Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at HCA Houston West. As a Traveling ICU RN, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a skilled team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- 2+ years of experience in ICU nursing, with a focus on acute care.
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
- Experience with cardiovascular surgical and neurovascular surgical patients.
- Knowledge of CRRT, vents, and pumps (IV and feeding).
- EMR experience with Meditech.
The ICU at HCA Houston West is a 28-bed unit with a team of 70+ RNs and support staff. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including hypothermia machines and CRRT. The team is known for their exceptional patient care and teamwork, and we are seeking a skilled and experienced RN to join our team.
