We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at HCA Houston West. As a Traveling ICU RN, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a skilled team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- At least 2 years of experience in ICU settings, with a focus on acute care.
- Experience with cardiovascular surgical and neurovascular surgical patients is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of EKG interpretation and ability to perform EKGs as needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Shifts will be 12 hours in length, with 30-minute breaks.
- Report to the bedside at the start of each shift.
- Work in a team-oriented environment with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
- The ICU at HCA Houston West is a 28-bed unit with a team of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals.
- The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including hypothermia machines, CRRT machines, and ventilators.
- The team is committed to providing high-quality patient care and has received recognition for its excellence in patient outcomes.
