Job Summary

The J. Paul Getty Trust is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking individual as its next Vice President of Advancement. This leadership role is vital to advancing Getty's partnership and fundraising efforts on a global scale and building and managing strategic partnerships to support our mission worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all fundraising, including transformative gifts from individual donors
  • Set annual and multi-year goals, develop and implement plans to achieve those goals, and forge new relationships to build Getty's visibility
  • Serve as the lead visionary and strategist for the institutional advancement team, fostering a collaborative culture among staff, and leading an effective development program while keeping the organization's mission at the forefront
Requirements
  • Passionate commitment to the visual arts and the presentation, conservation, and interpretation of the world's artistic legacy
  • 10 years of successful development/fundraising experience across a variety of fundraising channels, including six-figure investments
  • Broad experience that includes a deeper expertise in one or more of the following: major gifts, corporate giving, institutional giving/philanthropy, capital campaigns, annual fund, matching campaigns, special events membership or planned giving
  • Record of successful career growth with 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Experience with museums, informal learning institutions or community-based organizations a plus
