Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Representative to join our team at Western National Insurance Group. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving multiline insurance claims with moderate to high complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handles moderate-to-high complexity claims within settlement authority.
  • Ensures customer service excellence.
  • Investigates and reviews policy forms, facts, and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution.
  • Recognizes claim files exposures and escalates appropriately.
  • Establishes and reviews proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience, maintaining appropriate reports to ensure the status of claims is clearly documented.
  • Provides direction to outside resources.
  • Recognizes problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent.
  • Finds solutions using a systematic, multistep approach.
  • Develops improvements and innovations to enhance performance.
  • Maintains regular contact with customers, including policyholders, claimants, and agents, as well as regular contact with employees across the organization.
  • Maintains regular contact with outside vendors.
  • Travels for field work, occasionally on short notice, as required (i.e., scene investigations, inspecting property losses).
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of industry practices, standards, and claims concepts.
  • Prior claims experience.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or related experience.
