Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Truck Based Mechanic Foreman to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC mechanical equipment, building control systems, security systems, and fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC mechanical equipment, building control systems, security systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Assist branch leadership with coaching and mentoring of branch technicians to ensure delivery of customer satisfaction and adherence to operational processes.
  • Provide Level 1 technical support and assist with technical development for others.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements and operate with the highest ethics.
  • Properly complete all required project and service documentation.
  • Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards.
  • Provide safety leadership and instruction to all technicians.
  • Provide safety awareness and instruction to subcontractors on Johnson Controls work sites.
  • Recognized as a leader by peers while being a coach and mentor within the branch.
  • Escalation points on technical issues and provide on-the-job training for other technicians.
  • Provide solutions to others on very complex system problems by either troubleshooting or advising how to resolve problems.
  • Escalation points from the branch to the technical resource team in Milwaukee for critical issues.
  • Viewed as an expert in the given field by both employees and customers.
  • Assist management with ensuring proper field operational disciplines of other technicians are followed.
  • Regularly provide input on development and training needs of the branch.
  • Assist in developing quotes and estimates for identified L&M work and submit to the customer, service manager, or customer service agent, as appropriate.
  • Assist with the identification of material needs required for service delivery.
  • Assist the service manager or customer service agent with identifying and scheduling individuals with the correct skills and knowledge to perform repairs or installation.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems.
  • Keep customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommend system enhancements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Manage assigned work to meet a professional level of execution, on-time, and to customer satisfaction.
  • Provide consultant-level services for customers related to building system repairs and enhancements.
  • Ensure ultimate customer satisfaction levels with assigned customers.
  • Conduct self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency.
  • Complete all training and certifications as required by the company.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Requirements
  • In addition to the technical requirements of the given field, foremen need experience where strong leadership activities have been demonstrated.
  • Ability to act independently and coordinate the work of other employees and contractors on a customer site.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.
  • Able to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.

Pay Range: $64.94 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
