Position Overview

The County of Washington is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Children and Youth Caseworker 2. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with children and families in a supportive environment dedicated to community service.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this role is $48,945.00, with potential for career advancement. Employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Investigating reports of child abuse and neglect
  • Providing social service and case management support to children, youth, and families
  • Utilizing casework skills to gather essential information and counsel clients and their families
  • Assisting clients in accessing available resources
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
  • A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in relevant fields such as sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or criminal justice, along with one year of professional social casework experience
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes the required college credits

Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential for success in this role.
