Preventative Aftercare, a GJR Affiliate, offers community-oriented services across Pennsylvania and Ohio for adults, children, and families.
Position Summary: The Therapeutic Coach, also referred to as Counselor, for the Parenting Inside Out Program (POI) will engage therapeutically with incarcerated parents under the guidance of the Regional Director, adhering to best practice standards. The POI Counselor will facilitate multiple group counseling sessions weekly within the correctional facility, utilizing the evidence-based Parenting Inside Out curriculum. The work schedule is considered full-time (40 hours per week) and may include non-traditional hours, such as working evenings up to 7:30 PM or 8 PM, to accommodate the needs of the incarcerated parents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years of experience in working with parents and families within a CASSP (Child and Adolescent Social Service Program) framework is preferred.
- Licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
