Position Overview

The COUNTY OF WASHINGTON is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Children and Youth Caseworker 2. This position provides a unique opportunity to engage with children and families in a supportive environment dedicated to community service.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Investigating reports of child abuse and neglect
  • Providing social service and case management support to children, youth, and families
  • Utilizing casework skills to gather critical information and counsel clients and their families
  • Assisting clients in accessing available resources
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1, or successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
  • A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in relevant fields such as sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or criminal justice, along with one year of professional social casework experience
  • Alternatively, any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes the required college credits

Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential for success in this role.
