Position Overview: The Billing Supervisor is accountable for overseeing all facets of Self-Funded Billing and Collections, Cash Application, and Financial Business Systems Support. This role encompasses understanding workflows, processes, associated systems, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for customer-centric process enhancements, address system discrepancies, analyze root causes, implement business solutions, and facilitate training initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a team of self-funded analysts with varying levels of expertise.
- Collaborate with technical teams to pinpoint system functionalities that bolster operational processes.
- Serve as a business consultant and partner with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold workflow controls and consistency.
- Deliver month-end reporting, variance analysis, self-funded settlements, and any requested ad-hoc reporting to internal and external clients.
- Consult with management on business solutions aimed at streamlining processes and minimizing negative impacts on customers.
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of complex business requirements while managing overall project responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related discipline, with experience in Audit, Compliance, and Training within the Healthcare/Insurance sector preferred.
- If no degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience in a Billing, Finance, or Operations Department is required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities to swiftly and accurately resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Ability to define intricate business challenges and identify optimal solutions; effective project management skills are necessary.
- Proven understanding of process flows, regulatory implications, and timelines to ensure compliance across operational areas.
- Experience in compiling detailed reports and conducting data analysis to support business objectives.
- Proficient in trend analysis and acting as a liaison with business partners to communicate findings and recommendations aimed at reducing impacts on other departments and customers.
- Demonstrated success in a collaborative team environment with diverse levels of talent and motivation.
- Focus on continuous process improvement and leveraging efficiencies within the department.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Technical Skills: A robust technical aptitude is required to utilize and manipulate systems for generating necessary reports and validating data accuracy. Familiarity with multiple system applications, including Health Rules, Tableau, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), is essential.
