Behavioral Health Supervisor

The Behavioral Health Supervisor is a core member of the collaborative care team, responsible for supporting and coordinating the mental and physical health care of assigned patients. This role involves brief therapeutic interventions, medication management advice, and coordination with the patient's medical provider and other behavioral health providers.
The Behavioral Health Supervisor serves as the leader for the administrative and operational aspects of the UPHS collaborative care program in specialty practices. This includes supervising Mental Health Intake Coordinators and Behavioral Health Specialists, ensuring patient and customer satisfaction, and managing program profit and loss.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs, services, and initiatives to anticipate future customer needs and build customer loyalty.
- Participate in operational integration of programs, ensuring alignment of communication with UPHS Leadership, practice leadership, and staff.
- Ensure patient and customer satisfaction through comprehensive and continuous measurement of customer satisfaction.
- Accountable for program profit and loss, including expense and revenue variances, AR indicators, and write-offs.
- Provide program revenue cycle input, including billing, coding, cash management, and charge entry.
- Support implementation of managed care contracts and operational processes.
- Establish a team approach for the management of Mental Health Intake Coordinators and Behavioral Health Specialists.
- Monitor and manage the performance of direct reports.
- Participate in assessments and triaging of patients referred to Penn Integrated Care.
- Help determine service needs of other Penn Medicine departments and identify new areas of collaboration.
Requirements:
- LSW, LCSW, or LPC in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Required)
- Master of Arts or Science in Social Work, Nursing, Counseling, or Psychology (Required)
- 3+ years of experience in Healthcare Administration or related field (Required)
- 0-1+ years behavioral health care industry experience; experience with assessment and treatment planning for common mental health and/or substance use disorders; experience with evidence-based counseling techniques (Preferred)
