Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Central Transport Manager, this role involves transporting patients and patient-related materials throughout the hospital campus. The primary work location is the Fain Health Center (FHC), and all essential functions reflect the age-specific needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Transport patients and materials within the hospital and to and from outside facilities.
Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and/or stretchers.
Support department areas as directed by the dispatcher.
Collect and sign off specimens, cultures, orders, and requisitions, and deliver items to appropriate destinations.
Maintain established department policies and procedures related to quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.

Requirements:
Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Physical ability to perform essential duties.
Demonstrate knowledge, visual acuity, and skills necessary to provide correct patient identification.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Healthcare environment, such as acute care hospitals, physicians' offices, and ancillary healthcare enterprises.
Works with transport equipment and has direct patient contact; takes standard precautions and proper PPE as directed by Nursing personnel when transporting barrier patients.
Uniforms provided must be worn.
Any potential hazards are minimized or nullified by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions, including the use of safety equipment and protective clothing.
