Job Overview

Laser Photonics is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing laser systems and mechanical components for cutting-edge laser systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of laser systems and mechanical components, including assemblies, instruments, controls, robotics, and other machinery and components.
  • Creation of 3D CAD models from individual parts, top-level assemblies, and complete machine designs.
  • Testing and optimization of systems through modeling and analysis of mechanical designs to ensure functionality, durability, and performance to meet or exceed specified requirements.
  • Providing drawings for manufacturing and assembly departments.
  • Fabrication and prototyping through collaboration with cross-functional teams during system development.
  • Supporting the installation and application of mechanical products in laser systems.
  • Working with field teams to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues.
  • Developing strategies to enhance the longevity and performance of existing systems.
  • Demonstrating a strong ability to solve complex engineering problems, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering using SolidWorks.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks and adapt quickly to evolving project requirements and technologies.
