We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will participate in project design from the conceptual phase to the construction phase. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with various project teams to develop, refine, and update design criteria, and design direction, and be responsible for the generation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Job Functions:

Participate in project design from the conceptual phase to the construction phase
Collaborate with various project teams to develop, refine, and update design criteria, and design direction
Generate engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Perform tasks of Mechanical Engineer on MEP projects, including preliminary field investigations, scoping, and budgeting of projects, and identifying methods of project execution
Develop schematic, 30%, 60%, and 100% design phase documents, technical specifications, construction plans, and construction bid package documents
Simulation and computer modeling of building HVAC and building energy systems
Design of HVAC systems to include building code review and analysis, HVAC load calculations, and equipment sizing

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, or similar from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university
5+ years' experience
Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to become licensed within a year of hire
Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
Advanced understanding of design best practices
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to prepare reports and edit proposals
AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Trane Trace 700, EnergyPlus
Existing local area industry and vendor relationships
Previous Federal Government project design experience; preferred
Previous State of Florida project design experience; preferred
