Behavior Intervention Specialist

**Job Summary:**
Thomaston-Upson Schools is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing behavioral support to students with disabilities, developing and implementing behavioral intervention plans, and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure student success.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans to support students with disabilities.
- Provide behavioral support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and individual sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of problem behaviors.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce problem behaviors and increase positive behaviors.
- Provide training and support to teachers and other staff members on behavioral interventions and strategies.
- Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in behavioral support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioral data.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and to seek their input and support.
**Requirements:**
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or eligibility for certification.
- Experience working with students with disabilities and developing and implementing behavioral intervention plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
**Working Conditions:**
The Behavior Specialist will work in a variety of settings, including classrooms, individual sessions, and IEP meetings. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
