Are you seeking a role where you can leverage your nursing expertise, enjoy your work, and positively impact the lives of others? As a Nursing Administrator, you will be responsible for providing nursing services, training, oversight, and support to meet the medical or psychiatric needs of individuals facing developmental disabilities, substance abuse challenges, and emotional or behavioral issues.
- Lead the medical evaluation of individuals referred to our programs and collaborate with the Program Director or Area Director to assess suitability for community placement.
- Engage in the creation and execution of service plans, supervising the medical aspects of these plans alongside physicians, and regularly reviewing and updating nursing care plans.
- Ensure that all medical records and reports comply with regulatory and corporate standards, including medication administration records and physician orders.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of individuals receiving services, documenting medical skills training for individuals, mentors, respite providers, and staff.
- Supervise and manage Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) as assigned, including conducting performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and ongoing support.
- Facilitate medical skills training during pre-service orientation and conduct CPR/First Aid training as necessary.
- Participate as a member of the Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Plan of Care (POC) team, assessing the medical needs of individuals for initial IHP/POC and ensuring that goals are medically appropriate.
- Oversee the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services in collaboration with operations staff.
- Coordinate with primary care physicians and specialists, attending medical appointments as needed.
- Promote health and wellness among individuals, implementing nursing actions to prevent falls, injuries, and health complications.
- Administer medications according to established protocols, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with medication administration records.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee, and administrative meetings as required.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues related to durable medical equipment.
- Assist with household activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation for individuals to necessary appointments.
- Participate in the on-call system as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current state RN license.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with medically complex individuals.
- Valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance if providing transportation.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
