Position: Nursing Administrator

Travel Requirements: 80% travel within the state; Hybrid work model

Compensation: $70,000 annually

As a Nursing Administrator, you will deliver nursing services, training, oversight, and support to meet the medical or psychiatric needs of individuals facing developmental disabilities, substance use challenges, and emotional or behavioral issues.
  • Conduct medical assessments for individuals referred to our program and collaborate with the Program Director or Area Director to evaluate suitability for community placement.
  • Engage in the creation and execution of service plans, supervising the medical components in partnership with physicians, and regularly reviewing and updating nursing care plans.
  • Ensure that all medical records and reports comply with regulatory and corporate standards, including medication administration records and physician orders.
  • Develop tailored training programs for individuals receiving services, and provide medical skills training to individuals, mentors, respite providers, staff, and, when appropriate, the individual's family.
  • Supervise and manage LPNs as assigned, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and ongoing support; address employee relations issues as necessary.
  • Deliver medical skills training during pre-service orientation and conduct CPR/First Aid training as required.
  • Participate as a member of the Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Plan of Care (POC) team, assessing the medical needs of each individual for initial IHP/POC, ensuring goals are medically appropriate, and developing ongoing health care protocols.
  • Oversee the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services in collaboration with operations staff.
  • Coordinate with primary care physicians and specialists, and attend doctor visits with individuals receiving services when necessary.
  • Promote health and wellness for individuals, ensuring nursing actions are implemented to prevent falls, injuries, and health issues.
  • Administer medications according to established protocols, documenting all medications given and reviewing administration records for compliance.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee, and administrative meetings as required.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues related to durable medical equipment.
  • Assist with household activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation for individuals to necessary activities and appointments.
  • Participate in the on-call system as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program with a current state RN license.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with medically complex individuals.
  • Valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance if providing transportation.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
