Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Envases Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that required materials are purchased in a timely and efficient manner, while following our purchasing workflow process.
This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying the best solution for materials needed, taking into consideration cost, time, and delivery, as well as quality.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain systems, practices, processes, and procedures, and will be able to work collaboratively with others to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities- Process purchase requisitions and reviews them for appropriate specifications
- Analyze purchase requisitions and other purchase requests to determine the method of procurement
- Identify suppliers by researching materials, equipment, and supplies availability, and evaluate alternatives
- Verify supplier performance record and certification, and make recommendations for the most effective method of procurement
- Manage inventory for inks, coatings, and ribbons for production operations to ensure proper levels are maintained
- Create purchase orders in SAP for internal approvals
- Send purchase orders to vendors for processing after PO has been released in SAP with proper approvals
- Obtain confirmation of order from the vendor and ensure order accuracy
- Frequently follow up with internal customers and vendors to monitor the status of orders
- Ensure material, equipment, and supply availability by tracking and expediting delivery
- Check in products once received by comparing purchase order to packing slip and physical item received to ensure accuracy
- Disperse purchases to the party responsible for placing the order and turn the invoice into the accounting team
- Some College/Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field required
- 2 year's experience in purchasing of commodities, materials, equipment, and/or supplies on a large scale
- 3-5 years' experience with specific knowledge of purchasing in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
- Basic computer, math, and customer service skills required
- SAP experience strongly preferred
- Current and valid driver's license required
The Procurement Specialist will work primarily indoors in a well-lighted air-conditioned office. Daily contact with departmental personnel and vendors is required. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending is expected. May lift, carry, pull/push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lift (up to 25 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job.
Specific vision abilities required by this job are close, distance, colored vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; continuous use of vision, hearing, and speech.
Position requires the capability of managing stress effectively; work is fast-paced and can be demanding. Work requires organizing, prioritizing, accuracy, and attention to detail. Flexibility in order to assist with/coordinate a variety of projects and activities and to adapt standard methods and procedures to differing conditions; works in a high-volume environment.
Hours/Special Conditions: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days, occasional evening & weekends; regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position; position may require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops, or other facilities.
