Site Safety & Health Officer Position Overview

Healthworks Safety, LLC is in search of a dedicated Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee safety and health initiatives within the construction sector. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and safeguarding the welfare of all personnel engaged in projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in safety pre-planning and conduct thorough hazard assessments.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for all personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive safety documentation for both employees and contractors.
  • Administer record-keeping and reporting protocols.
  • Assist in the formulation of Activity Hazard Analyses.
  • Perform safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Deliver essential training and coaching to staff.
  • Issue necessary permits in accordance with safety standards.
  • Accompany personnel during safety inspections to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety within the construction industry.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction industry training within the last 3 years.
  • EM385 40-hour certification is required.
  • Completion of OSHA Course #500 is necessary.
  • Demonstrated competency in various safety disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Commitment to ongoing safety education annually.
Physical Demands:

This role necessitates ordinary ambulatory skills and the capacity to perform diverse physical tasks. Visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination are essential. The individual may be required to sit, reach, talk, and hear as part of their duties.
