Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic/Boiler Operator will be responsible for the daily operation of the boiler, including taking hourly readings, performing boiler water analysis, and startup and shutdown of the boilers. This role will also involve troubleshooting, diagnosing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and systems related to automated and manual production equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the boiler, including taking hourly readings and performing boiler water analysis
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery issues
  • Assemble, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Operate and use manual tools and powered-shop machinery and tools
  • Repair and maintain material handling equipment
  • Identify and locate sources of problems
  • Maintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies inventories
  • Continually maintain a safe working operation
Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts 2nd Class fireman's license or above
  • Hands-on maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical background and equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Technical, vocational, or trade school education is a plus
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills and technical aptitude
  • Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance experience preferred
  • Familiarity with various hand and electric tools
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work-related tasks and special projects
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English
  • Detail-oriented and ability to meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills required
  • Ability to work safely
About the Role

This is a day shift role in a production warehouse environment with exposure to various climate conditions and under stressful conditions. The successful candidate will be able to work safely, prioritize tasks, and maintain a positive relationship with management and department staff.
