Position Title: Electrical Mechanical Specialist
Role Objective: To proficiently execute assigned tasks within the Electrical-Mechanical Specialist job classification for Golf Ball Manufacturing Operations. This role requires independent handling of all aspects related to Electrical-Mechanical responsibilities. The specialist will be accountable for analyzing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production machinery while enhancing equipment reliability. Active participation in preventative and predictive maintenance practices is essential. Clear communication with colleagues and Team Leaders, particularly regarding continuous improvement initiatives, is vital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently diagnose, repair, and overhaul various complex electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatically controlled production machinery with skill and adaptability.
- Organize work to ensure optimal operational sequences, minimizing production disruptions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance as per the equipment schedule.
- Reconstruct electrical mechanical devices as necessary.
- Collaborate with Engineering to design, select, modify, and/or adapt equipment or procedures to meet specific project needs.
- Test, calibrate, and repair electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments to ensure compliance with established standards, while assisting in the development of calibration standards.
- Maintain accurate work records (work orders, PMs, materials, and parts) within the Maintenance system.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate must fulfill one of the following educational and experience criteria: 1. Complete TPC educational requirements with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an electrical discipline focused on maintaining and repairing industrial equipment; or 2. Hold an Approved Technical Associates Degree/College Level certificate in Electrical/Electronic Discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or 3. Possess a minimum of 7 years of industrial experience in a skilled trade related to electrical disciplines without formal post-secondary education. Completion of TPC educational requirements for any identified skills gaps is mandatory.
- Possession of personal trade tools is required.
- Ability to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery and equipment is essential.
- Formal training in AC/DC circuits and basic PLC functions, along with a working knowledge of mechanical systems and instrumentation & controls experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of safe work practices, including Lock Out-Tag Out and NFPA - 70E.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Adherence to manufacturing/equipment specifications.
- Demonstrated mechanical skills and techniques.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Experience in interpreting blueprints and schematics, with knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical schematics.
- Computer literacy is required.
- Familiarity with measuring devices and tolerances.
- Experience using various hand, power, and machine tools such as drills, lathes, and millers.
- Commitment to learning and applying quality standards of workmanship and product.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to operational hours, including strict adherence to attendance policies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Respect for organizational policies and procedures, particularly concerning Safety and Quality.
- Demonstrated respect for colleagues through effective communication with peers, team leaders, and management.
- Successful completion of all Health Services testing requirements for this position.
