About the Role:

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take medical histories and accurately capture and document patient vital signs
  • Request and update patient medical records
  • Communicate with patients and provide documentation for patients or members of the healthcare team while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Perform clinical procedures such as venipuncture and administer injections/immunizations as allowed by state regulations
  • Assist with scheduling of tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments
  • Respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information

Requirements:

  • Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required
  • MA certification required; if not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 6 months to 1 year dependent on state requirements
  • 1+ years' experience in office-based setting preferred
  • CPR certification required
  • Ability to maintain OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations
