About the Role:

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take medical histories, capture and document patient vital signs, and request and update patient medical records.
  • Support patient care by providing documentation for patients or members of the healthcare team while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, gather patient history, take and record vital signs, and prepare patients for examination.
  • Provide assistance to physicians and/or advanced practice providers in preparing and conducting medical exams and office procedures.
  • Communicate information and instructions to patients as directed by physicians, advanced practice providers, or nursing staff.
  • Assist with scheduling of tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments, and communicate test results to patients.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments, triage and process messages, and requests from patients, clinic staff, referring physicians, and pharmacies.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.

Requirements:

  • Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.
  • MA certification required; if not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 6 months to 1 year dependent on state requirements.
  • 1+ years' experience in an office-based setting preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to follow universal precautions, maintain OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is required.
