Job Summary:

Aqua Illinois, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to oversee the administration and operation of water and wastewater field operations in Illinois. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the delivery of safe, clean water services to communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Supervise staff, set performance goals, and provide training and growth opportunities to ensure the success of our field operations team.
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance environmental compliance.
  • Financial Management: Manage operating and capital budgets, oversee maintenance and renovations, and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with customers, regulators, and vendors to address issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with business development teams to identify opportunities for new systems and acquisitions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implement safety programs and ensure equipment maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track performance metrics to optimize resource utilization and drive business results.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 7 years of experience in a related field, with a proven track record of success in operations management.
  • Certifications: Illinois EPA Class A Drinking Water Certification and Class 1 Wastewater Certification.
  • Other: Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Work Environment: Perform sedentary work and travel to work sites as needed.
  • Exposure to Elements: Exposure to elements, noise, and hazardous substances.
  • Travel Requirements: Availability for company travel up to 40% of the time.
