Position Summary:

The OwnBrands Product Brand Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic plans for designated categories. This position requires a forward-thinking individual capable of innovating and foreseeing customer needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and project management abilities, ensuring the promotion of sales growth, profitability, and OwnBrands market penetration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the wholesale profit and loss for the designated business area to achieve market growth and sales objectives.
  • Formulate OwnBrands strategies aligned with the company's overarching goals, focusing on assortment, pricing, promotions, and shelf placement.
  • Continuously evaluate performance against budgeted targets for OwnBrands category sales using various reporting tools.
  • Influence merchandising strategies that enhance sales across corporate and independent store banners.
  • Manage the product life cycle for OwnBrands items within assigned categories.
  • Lead the product development process in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Supervise the OwnBrands Design Process for relevant categories.
  • Achieve financial targets such as sales, profit, and market share while regularly monitoring business outcomes and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendor partners to enhance category management, negotiate favorable product costs, and optimize trade funds.
  • May oversee departmental management, including staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Represent OwnBrands in cross-functional teams for special projects.
  • Mentor and train new Product Brand Managers.
  • Recognized as an internal and external expert in the category.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to established practices.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in category management, making recommendations for program improvements.
  • Conduct store visits to assess merchandising quality and gather insights on shopper needs.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in marketing, category management, product management, or product development.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical capabilities, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of category products, services, and industry trends.
  • Experience collaborating across business units to leverage resources effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and category management tools; familiarity with purchasing systems is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as needed based on assigned categories.
