Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Material Handling Systems, Inc. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and sub-assembling conveyors and conveyor components according to prints and general instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, assemble, and skid conveyors, line shafts, and sub-assemblies in a timely and accurate manner using prints, BOMs, and general assembly instructions.
  • Tension belt drives using a sonic belt tension device.
  • Operate steel tape measure, weighing and counting equipment, computers, and appropriate handling equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized according to the 6S plan.
  • Support and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
  • Report labor in Navision in a detailed and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of torque equipment and how to use it.
  • Basic understanding of drive trains and how they are adjusted.
  • Ability to operate fork trucks and walk-behind trucks.
  • Knowledge of cranes and safe rigging practices.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools to assemble components.
  • Ability to analyze and solve production requirements through interactive conversation with associates, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to operate computer terminals as pertains to production area.
  • Lift 50 pounds up to 36 inches above the floor onto a conveyor for testing purposes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Bills of Material, etc.
  • Ability to work regular working hours (1st or 2nd shift) to accommodate the team's and production requirements.
