Sonographer - Full-Time (Thursday through Saturday: 7:30am to 8pm)

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing and interpreting diagnostic ultrasound examinations. This is a full-time position working Thursday through Saturday, 7:30am to 8:00pm.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient identification and ensure that the requested exam correlates with the patient's clinical history and presentation.
- Explain the examination and associated procedures to the patient and respond to their questions and concerns.
- Perform two and/or three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings/imaging of internal organs/structures for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs.
- Measure and calculate according to protocol and provide timely, accurate, concise, and completed documentation.
- Obtain and prepare medication, supplies, and equipment for invasive and non-invasive procedures, using sterile technique when appropriate.
- Perform procedural timeouts and provide ultrasound guidance for interventional procedures.
- Comply with all federal, state, local, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Ensure overall patient safety and prevention of patient safety hazards.
- Assist in prioritizing the needs of referring physicians and patients to accommodate add-on exams into daily schedules.
- Participate in the development, implementation, changes, and updates of protocols.
- Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities.
- Improve patient experience and satisfaction scores for the modality and department.
- Participate in staffing and scheduling to meet the needs of physicians and patients.
- Ensure timely and quality transfer of images and studies to PACS.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Contribute to the development of new hire orientation and staff development.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and participate in training and readiness activities.
- Communicate equipment issues to leadership and make necessary calls to vendors or biomed for support.
- Participate in department projects, such as ACR accreditation, Quality and Performance Improvement Initiatives, and promotion of the department to physicians, community, and patients.
- Assist in the ordering and management of inventory.
- Ensure positive and professional communication between modalities, nursing, ED, scheduling, admitting, physicians, and transporters.
- Set an example of positive interactions, encouraging actions, and promoting co-workers, physicians, hospital, and medical group.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and creatively solve problems with a minimum of immediate supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and use time wisely.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families who may be under physical and emotional stress.
- Ability to gather and exchange information effectively with nursing personnel, physicians, and customers.
- Ability to enter data accurately using assigned computer systems.
