We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at St. Peter's Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Verify patient identification and clinical history to ensure accurate exam correlation
- Explain examinations and procedures to patients, addressing their questions and concerns
- Perform two and/or three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings/imaging of internal organs/structures for diagnosis and study
- Measure and calculate data according to protocol, providing timely and accurate documentation
- Obtain and prepare medication, supplies, and equipment for invasive and non-invasive procedures, using sterile technique when necessary
- Perform procedural timeouts and provide ultrasound guidance for interventional procedures
- Comply with federal, state, local, and regulatory agency requirements, prioritizing patient safety and prevention of hazards
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and creatively solve problems with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan and use time wisely, effectively communicating with patients, families, nursing personnel, physicians, and customers
- Accurate data entry using assigned computer systems, such as RIS/HIS and PACS
