We are seeking a qualified lecturer to teach courses in Veterans Studies at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and experience in teaching with and about veterans. The position is part-time and temporary, contingent on programmatic need.
Responsibilities
The lecturer will be responsible for teaching Soc Sci 132: Veterans in History and Society and Soc Sci 134W: Veterans' Voices. The courses will be taught online asynchronously. The lecturer will also be expected to develop and implement course materials, assess student learning, and provide feedback to students.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. in qualitative Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, History, or a historically-grounded Humanities or Writing-related field. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching with and about veterans, as well as knowledge and appreciation of the diversity of military veterans' identities and experiences.
