Graduate Affairs Analyst, School of Social Sciences

The Graduate Affairs office in the School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine seeks a highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented multi-tasker to provide analytical support to the Director, Associate Dean, graduate students, faculty, and initiatives. As a member of the School of Social Sciences, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University's core competencies-- job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation-- while representing the Director, Associate Dean and School to the campus.
Responsibilities:
• Provide analytical support to the Director, Associate Dean, graduate students, faculty, and initiatives
• Maintain and manage graduate data tracking programs, student health and psychological support systems, housing and student life programs, advanced degree program implementation and analysis, application and admissions processes, union implications relevant to student employment, administration of financial support models, employment and salary administration, graduate student management and recruitment, and customer service pertaining to daily administrative operations in the Graduate Affairs office
• Utilize Excel and other spreadsheet/database programs and systems to analyze and manage data
• Collaborate with diverse populations, including graduate students, faculty, and staff, to provide support and services
• Develop and implement solutions to complex problems and issues
• Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training
• 3-5 years of applicable University experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Experience with Excel and other spreadsheet/database programs and systems
• Multicultural competencies and ability to work with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques
• Understanding of University rules and regulations
• Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and pertinent databases
• Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars
