Job Title: Assistant Director of Robotics

Job Type: Part-time

Description:

Presentation High School in San Jose, California is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Robotics to lead our robotics program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspiring students to create and experiment, instructing students on the design and creation of a robot, and facilitating purchasing of robotics supplies and maintenance of tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Model for students the mission and values of Presentation High School
  • Serve as another point-of-contact for Presentation Robotics
  • Inspire students to create and experiment
  • Instruct students on the design and creation of a robot, including the fabrication of the parts needed for the robot
  • Monitor the lab to ensure student safety and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with mentors to train students on relevant skills needed
  • Facilitate purchasing of robotics supplies and maintenance of tools
  • Coordinate team registration and travel plans for robotics competitions
  • Exercise professionalism at all times with students, parents, and colleagues

Requirements:

  • B.A. degree
  • Experience working with middle or high school students
  • Experience with project-based learning and/or FIRST robotics (FRC) strongly preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Sit, stand, walk, climb stairs or ladder, reach, perform repetitive hand motions
  • Considerable time is spent in the workshop supervising & instructing students
  • Work with frequent interruptions

Work Environment:

  • Workshop environment
  • Some equipment noise
