Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Memory Care Activity Coordinator to join our team at Avail Senior Living. As a key member of our Memory Care team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities on weekends, ensuring a high level of care and engagement for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Programming: Develop and implement engaging activity programs for residents, ensuring a stimulating and enjoyable experience.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with families, caregivers, and other staff members to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop relationships with referral sources and the local Alzheimer's chapter, promoting our community's services and expertise.
  • Staff Education: Provide education and training to staff members on activity programming, resident care, and safety protocols.
  • Logbook Review: Review the logbook daily to ensure accurate documentation of resident care and activities.
  • Assisted Living Support: Assist with the coordination of activities in Assisted Living, ensuring a seamless experience for residents.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess general knowledge of activity programming for Alzheimer's residents, and ability to facilitate engaging activities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Team Development: Proven ability to develop and lead a high-performing team, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Mobility: Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, with the ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Sensory Abilities: Possess sight, hearing, and speech senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately.
