Position Overview
The LPN for Resident Care is responsible for delivering exceptional assisted living services through meaningful interactions, ensuring that residents can achieve their highest level of independence while adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Resident Care Director.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from an accredited institution.
  • Active LPN license in good standing throughout employment.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in senior care services.
  • Current CPR certification upon hire, or ability to obtain during orientation, with ongoing maintenance of certification.
  • Current First Aid certification (if mandated by state regulations).

Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of the LPN for Resident Care include:

  • Overseeing the medication management program, ensuring accuracy in medication assistance records (MARs), and providing hands-on medication support to residents.
  • Administering treatments as per physician directives.
  • Monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and blood sugar levels.
  • Documenting relevant resident information accurately.
  • Communicating changes in residents' conditions to physicians promptly.
  • Transcribing new physician orders and updating medication sheets accordingly.
  • Assisting residents with daily living activities.
  • Coordinating medication orders and refills with designated pharmacies as necessary.
  • Responding swiftly to resident requests and call lights.
  • Providing comprehensive reports to the incoming shift staff.
  • Supporting the Resident Care Director with supervisory tasks.
  • Participating in the training and guidance of the resident care team.
  • Assisting in the scheduling of departmental hours effectively.
  • Exemplifying professionalism and serving as a role model for peers.
  • Fostering respectful relationships with all associates.

Additional Requirements
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Expertise in nursing practices and procedures.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in assisted living.
  • Capability to implement and interpret departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in all relevant competency areas.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Adherence to company policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
  • Integrity and professionalism, in line with the organization's Code of Ethics.
