Norfolk, Virginia, United States ZenTech Consulting Full time

Overview: ZenTech Consulting is in search of a proficient Construction Manager who possesses exceptional skills in project oversight, strategic problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail. This position is vital for ensuring that our tailored construction projects are executed efficiently, adhering to budget constraints and maintaining the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is not merely a problem recognizer but a proactive solution architect, adept at simplifying complex challenges and offering practical alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Problem Resolution: Evaluate and dissect challenges to their fundamental components. Present well-thought-out solutions instead of merely highlighting issues. For instance, suggest approaches like, "We can tackle this with Option A or Option B—what is your preference?" rather than seeking guidance.
  • Task Execution: Propel tasks to completion, ensuring that no follow-ups remain unresolved. Excuses such as "I've reached out but haven't received a response" or "They mentioned they would follow up" are not acceptable. The objective is to ensure the task is finalized, not just initiated.
  • Project Oversight: Manage a variety of customized construction projects, each with distinct requirements. This encompasses overseeing project timelines, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring that all resources and labor align with project objectives.
  • Attention to Technical Details: Administer and oversee a range of technical specifications across projects, ensuring that all requirements are meticulously adhered to.
  • Vendor & Client Relations: Uphold accountability with suppliers and deliver an outstanding experience to clients. This includes participating in project initiation meetings, managing amendments, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep comprehensive records of project advancements, including daily logs, progress imagery, and material deliveries. Ensure that all documentation is accurately recorded and systematically organized.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with a history of identifying and executing effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to drive tasks to completion with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Highly detail-oriented, particularly in managing technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective management of client and vendor relationships.
  • Experience in project management or a related discipline is preferred.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Paid time off and sick leave
  • Paid holidays
  • Retirement plan with company matching
  • Company vehicle or allowance (to be determined)
  • Access to professional development and training opportunities
