About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Research and Systems Engineering organization for Foundational Platform Engineering (FPE) at Wells Fargo. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in setting technical direction, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of enterprise-level infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to architectural design principles, security standards, and project timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the primary technical point of contact for project-related communications and escalations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years experience in software development and delivery. In-depth knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, networking, storage, and security.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in designing complex, distributed, and scalable enterprise level applications.
  • Solid programming skills in Python or Go for automation, scripting, and infrastructure management tasks.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Salt).
