Inland Empire Paper Company is a leading organization in the logistics sector, dedicated to providing comprehensive transportation solutions. We pride ourselves on our skilled team of logistics experts, including dedicated drivers who adhere to all regulatory standards.
We are in search of a logistics coordinator to manage the daily operations of load planning, assignment, and execution for our fleet of drivers. This role primarily operates Monday through Friday, with a standard schedule of 7 AM to 4 PM, and may require after-hours and weekend availability for remote support.
Key Responsibilities:Load Planning:
- Serve as the primary contact for customers, shippers, receivers, and drivers.
- Oversee the planning and execution of weekly loads, ensuring optimal assignment to drivers based on timing and efficiency.
- Encourage the development of profitable transportation routes.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of DOT regulations, including hours of service and load weight restrictions.
- Collaborate with freight brokers to negotiate competitive freight rates and manage necessary documentation.
Driver Dispatch:
- Handle incoming calls, address concerns, and reassign tasks as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with drivers through various channels, assisting in resolving issues that may hinder their operations.
- Manage maintenance requests and direct drivers to approved service providers.
- Utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to generate and track orders.
- Ensure that all loads are accurately updated in our Prophesy software, maintaining customer and rate information.
- Be available for driver support outside of regular hours as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Learn and apply safe operational practices to ensure compliance.
- Guide drivers in understanding company policies regarding insurance claims, workplace incidents, and leave requests.
- Coordinate the ONP calendar.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of drivers.
- Provide coaching to drivers based on performance feedback and operational data.
- Support the reconciliation of orders for both drivers and customers to assist accounting functions.
- Prepare and update driver documentation regularly.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- A minimum of three years of experience in logistics or customer service is preferred.
- Must possess a proactive, energetic, and accountable approach to work.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with a strong sense of urgency.
- Quick learner with the capability to manage multiple processes effectively.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in typing and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ideal candidates will be observant, self-aware, and analytical problem solvers.
- Experience with web-based applications and marketing tools is a plus.
