The Culinary Operations Assistant (COA) plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team and the Kitchen Supervisor in a restaurant setting. This position involves ensuring that the kitchen maintains high standards of quality and consistency through teamwork and effective communication.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Uphold superior quality standards in alignment with company policies.
  • Assist in preparing the kitchen for the opening team.
  • Review schedules and shifts to ensure adequate kitchen staffing.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure team accountability.
  • Examine notes from the previous day’s kitchen operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels daily.
  • Prepare for incoming shipments and orders.
  • Track compliance with shelf-life standards.
  • Verify that all refrigeration and cooking equipment is operating within safe temperature ranges prior to food preparation.
  • Maintain an understanding of menu item specifications and flavor profiles.
  • Follow recipe guidelines meticulously.
  • Conduct daily sanitation checks and health inspections.
  • Adhere to established food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Manage the flow of orders to ensure timely and quality service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Aspiring to become a certified trainer in back-of-house operations.
  • A passion for leading and inspiring team members to enhance guest experiences.
  • Experience in the restaurant industry or a similar fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification as a trainer in back-of-house functions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of kitchen operations.
