Job Summary

The Hilton Charlotte University Place is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating the payment of all monies due by preparing accurate invoices in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and send out invoices/statements to clients in a timely manner with corresponding folios, food and beverage checks, and miscellaneous vouchers.
  • Ensure transfer from guest ledger to city ledger is accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Research declined bank cards and all other credit card chargebacks for justification and validity.
  • Maintain tax-exempt certification.
  • Set up accounts receivable files to include a complete and accurate bill, a call sheet, and any pertinent information pertaining to the group.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, issues, and problems in a quick, efficient manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service.
  • Assist with credit card disputes, guest inquiries, and account statement mailings.
  • Keep the Controller informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with peers to foster a cooperative working environment.
  • Attend required meetings/conference calls/company functions.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or similar field, 1-2 years of employment in a similar capacity, or a sufficient combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to make decisions and determine a suitable course of action.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information/data and basic math functions.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
