Job Overview

Icetro America, a division of Middleby, is a leading provider of commercial ice machines, slush machines, and soft-serve machines in the United States and Canada. With over 2 million units sold across 80+ countries, the company has established itself as a global leader in frozen food products.

The Controller will serve as the financial leader for the organization, reporting to the Division President and serving as a member of the leadership team to drive strategic planning and support of the organization's growth. This position oversees all aspects of accounting, finance, and information systems, including controllership, transaction processing, and financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead company efforts to plan and optimize the organization's financial performance.
  • Collaborate with departments to deliver consolidated results and drive business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the leadership team by providing financial input and decision-making leadership.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process and gather financial data for analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, in accordance with GAAP, to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the company compared to budget/forecast and implement changes to improve results.
  • Maintain scalable accounting and control processes with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and supervise staff, monitor performance, and evaluate department effectiveness.
  • Actively monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting financial strategy and operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant preferred.
  • Prior experience in a distribution company strongly preferred.
  • Public company accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, technical, and communication skills required.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead change initiatives and effectively interface with a management team required.
  • Technical accounting skills combined with process aptitude and demonstrated 'scale up' in a growth or high-change business environment required.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading and developing teams, using strong communication skills in a collaborative environment required.
  • Travel requirements: Minimal domestic and international travel required as necessary to perform essential job functions.
