Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Placentia, CA

Position Summary: We are looking for a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide critical speech and language services to students. The SLP will play a vital role in helping students develop the communication skills necessary for their academic and social achievements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Create tailored treatment plans and objectives based on assessment findings, collaborating with educators, parents, and other specialists.
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students, both one-on-one and in group settings, in alignment with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
  • Regularly track and document student progress, modifying therapy methods and objectives as necessary to enhance outcomes.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to incorporate speech and language goals into the classroom, promoting student engagement and success.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, providing insights regarding speech and language requirements, progress, and intervention strategies.
  • Maintain precise and timely records of therapy sessions, evaluations, progress reports, and other necessary documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
  • ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, especially in educational environments, is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
