Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Employment Type: PRN/Per Diem/As Needed

Compensation: $35 per hour

(based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

We seek dedicated individuals who will be advocates of the Select Medical Way, which emphasizes patient-first approaches, enhancing the quality of life within the community, continuous personal and professional development, delivering high-quality care, and doing what is ethically right.

Your role will involve assisting with the provision of Physical Therapy services, including but not limited to:

  • Implementing treatment objectives, strategies, and programs as outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT).
  • Supporting the PT in executing therapeutic interventions aimed at achieving the patients' long-term rehabilitation goals, including posture training, strength training, endurance training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain management, and functional skills training.
  • Educating patients on the use of mobility aids such as orthotics, prosthetics, canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Demonstrating safe techniques for gait training and ensuring patient safety during therapy sessions.
  • Assisting in the ordering and instructing patients on the proper use of prescribed therapeutic equipment.

Qualifications

Candidates should exhibit a strong understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, valued, and understood. A commitment to delivering high-quality care is essential. We are looking for innovative problem solvers who thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A valid state PTA license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
