Job Summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will provide expert care to critically ill newborns and their families. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with families to provide education and support throughout the hospital stay.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by promoting open communication and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program preferred.
  • 1-2 years RN experience required.
  • RN- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment required.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
