Job Title: Registered Nurse, NICU

Howard University Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring vital signs
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
  • At least 12 months of acute care experience as an RN in the NICU, with Level III experience highly preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
  • NRP certification required
