Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified individual to take on the role of Chairperson for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This leadership position is situated within a comprehensive healthcare system located in southwestern Connecticut.

About the Healthcare Organization:

  • Our facility conducts approximately 1500 deliveries annually, supported by a level 3a neonatal intensive care unit.
  • The unit serves a diverse community in Fairfield County and collaborates with three independent physician groups.
  • We maintain a strong hospitalist program complemented by advanced practitioner support.
  • Our team includes 24-hour in-house coverage for Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Each year, we perform around 500 gynecologic procedures, including gynecologic oncology and urogynecology.
  • We are proud to be the primary teaching hospital for the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, providing education to medical and physician assistant students.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, with a focus on team development, program advancement, and a commitment to quality and safety in patient care.
  • Proficiency in Obstetrical practices is essential.
  • Reporting directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Chairperson will oversee the department's safety, quality, and service, as well as the formulation of departmental plans, goals, and objectives.
  • This role includes responsibilities as the primary educator and site director for the OB/GYN segment of the Family Practice Residency Program, in addition to serving as the academic chairperson for the Department of OB/GYN at the Netter School of Medicine.
