Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Chairperson for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This leadership position is vital for ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in our integrated healthcare system.

About the Organization:

  • Our facility manages approximately 1500 deliveries annually, supported by a level 3a neonatal intensive care unit.
  • The unit serves a diverse community and collaborates with three independent physician groups.
  • We maintain a strong hospitalist program, bolstered by advanced practitioner support.
  • Comprehensive in-house coverage for Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Anesthesia is available around the clock.
  • Annually, we conduct 500 gynecologic procedures, including gynecologic oncology and urogynecology.
  • As the primary teaching hospital for the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, we provide educational opportunities for medical and physician assistant students.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, with a focus on team development, program enhancement, and a dedication to quality and safety.
  • Proficient obstetrical skills are essential for this role.
  • Reporting directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Chair will oversee departmental safety, quality, and service, while also guiding the development of departmental plans, goals, and objectives.
  • This position includes responsibilities as the primary educator and site director for the OB/GYN segment of the Family Practice Residency Program, in addition to serving as the academic chairperson for the Department of OB/GYN at the Netter School of Medicine.
