Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team at HFW Companies. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for processing multi-state weekly payroll runs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of payroll administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers to ensure timecard accuracy and resolve any issues or corrections.
  • Process payroll data, including entering time and validating payroll prior to transmission, ensuring all benefit codes and deductions are accurate.
  • Work closely with HR on benefit-related matters, meeting daily and weekly deadlines for payroll submissions.
  • Evaluate and establish accuracy of federal, state, and local taxes, social security contributions, employee benefit contributions, fringe benefits, garnishments, and other deductions of employee paychecks.
  • Analyze payroll discrepancies, resolving issues and improving processes to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees via verbal and written communications, addressing paycheck amounts, deductions, leave accruals, direct deposit, and other concerns.
  • Configure ADP payroll system to meet each firm's unique needs, establishing state tax, unemployment tax, and local city/territory accounts as necessary.
  • Monitor and complete tax filings as required, maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration, preferably in a multi-firm or complex organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with ADP or similar payroll systems, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of current payroll related laws and regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to employees via verbal and written communications.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and performance.
