About the Role

At HDR, we are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our transportation planning group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing transportation plans that meet the needs of our clients and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Planning: Develop and implement transportation plans that meet the needs of our clients and communities, including transit plans, local, regional, and statewide multimodal transportation plans, transit-oriented development, corridor studies, short and long-range transit and transportation plans, transportation planning reports, and transit studies for multiple modes.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and other stakeholders, to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers, architects, and other professionals, to develop and implement transportation plans.
  • Communication: Develop and present technical reports, presentations, and other materials to stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant transportation and transit planning experience.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills, understanding of transportation and transit planning principles, positive attitude, ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Geographic Information Systems, and demonstrated presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Planning or a related field.
  • Certifications: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability in Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, familiarity with transit facilities planning, and experience coordinating with transit agencies, municipalities, state, and federal government organizations with relevance to transportation and transit in Ohio.
