Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a proactive and independent NEPA Planner within the Transportation North NEPA Division.
  • Demonstrate expertise in transportation planning and environmental clearance documentation, particularly within Pennsylvania.
  • Conduct Wetland Delineations and, ideally, Bog Turtle surveys.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, showcasing strong communication and writing skills.
  • Author NEPA documents and waterway permitting applications, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental laws and policies.
  • Assess community and environmental justice impacts, as well as air and noise quality effects.
  • Conduct thorough wetland and stream assessments, along with indirect and cumulative impact evaluations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FHWA and PennDOT's environmental policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit strong technical writing skills and experience in environmental documentation preparation and review.
  • Possess either AICP and/or CEP certification, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with PennDOT, PTC, SHA, MDTA, MDOT MTA, VDOT, DelDOT, and/or DDOT is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Pre-employment drug testing is a condition of employment, along with random drug testing as required for contracts.
