Job Summary

The role of Manager Advanced Practice Professionals - Cardiology involves providing strategic guidance and administrative oversight for Advanced Practice Professionals focused on certain geographical zones and/or medical or surgical specializations within Baylor Scott & White Health System. This helps these professionals meet their fundamental obligations while achieving expected results.

This position requires a strong understanding of Federal and local Texas laws as well as legislation related to medical and nursing board governance of Advanced Practice Professionals. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with Joint Commission regulations regarding Advanced Practice Professional practice in hospitals and clinics.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 per year, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and advancement. The estimated salary range may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Oversight of a team of Advanced Practice Professionals, including hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management.
  2. Partnering with physician and administrative leadership on relevant issues related to Advanced Practice Professionals.
  3. Delivering patient services under the guidance of a supervising physician and/or assigned staff physician.
  4. Conducting patient interviews and examinations to identify symptoms and create or update patient records.
  5. Carrying out comprehensive examinations and relevant medical screening procedures.
  6. Assisting in forming diagnostic, therapeutic, and follow-up plans or treatment protocols when necessary.
  7. Evaluating laboratory data, ordering pertinent lab tests, and following established protocols.
  8. Communicating crucial information to patients, supervising physicians, and other caregivers involved in patient care.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  1. A strong understanding of Federal and local Texas laws as well as legislation related to medical and nursing board governance of Advanced Practice Professionals.
  2. Familiarity with Joint Commission regulations regarding Advanced Practice Professional practice in hospitals and clinics.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
  5. Analysis and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to guide, direct, mentor, train, and collaborate with a team in a consensus-building environment.
  7. Proficiency in computer systems, including Electronic Health Records, databases, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  8. Familiarity with prevailing system and institutional policies, bylaws, and credentialing requirements.
  9. Proven self-direction and initiative.
